- 2, It is a distinct privilege for the Class of '55 to be the first to graduate from the new high school building. The pride that they have in it should be reflected in cleaner, better, stronger, and more useful careers, They say that overcoming obstacles im- proves the stamina, Goodness knows we have had them, Tests and observation com- bine to demonstrate to the teachers, who have worked with the Class of '55, to corroborate the verdict of the principal that the class is unusually capable in many respects, Therefore it is reasonable to expect that they will achieve an unusual a- mount of success, With the aid of former classes and under -graduates they have put Rosebud High School on the map in a very creditable manner. Let us not selfishly attempt to misconstrue this statement. Let us not neglect to give credit where credit is due. Many people also serve who only stand and wait. Contributory factors in the success of a school are such minor matters as regularity of attendance, dependable behavior, conscien- tious study, and preparation of daily work, Winning recognition in any field by any group or the school as a whole, involves a great deal of planning and a great deal of conscientious effort. The ambition to sur- pass other individuals, groups, classes, or schools is commendable. To surpass one's own past is the thing that really counts, Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think of these things, With best regards, W l X X

School District No, 5 has two school boards. Ed Bott, Fred Luh- man and William A, Smith comprise the grade school board. These three men along with Frank Lange from the Rosebud Creek district and J ack Dawson from the Carterville district make up the five man high school board, It is the responsibility of these men to see that the school functions properly. It is an endless and many times a thankless task to see that there are teachers, books, supplies and other necessities to meet the educational requirements of the community. These men do their best but their efforts aren't always appreciated. This past year found them especially busy as the new high school was put into operation,
