We will never forget our class play UGood Gracious Grandman directed by Mrs. Diane Lindquest. We especially remember Gary as Granny. As the Seniors of 1953 we are looking forward to grad- uation. de had the responsibility of Homecoming. La Vonne Reinartz was crowned as queen and Robert Gerhart king. We also sponsored the Christmas Party and hoped everyone had an enjoyable time. Although we are anticipating the day we graduate, we will be sorry to leave Rose Creek High with many of IES memories. II Class Prophecy Having aquired a large sum of money I decided to hop a Strata Cruiser for a trio around the good old U S A , to see all my old friends of the Class of 1953 While I was in Vinneapolis, making plane reservation , I decided to take in a basketball game The Rocheste doyals were ulaylng the Minneapolis Lakers who boasted their very effective c nter,6 ft 7 in Jack La Lone I cotldn't believe my eyes for Jack had oeen a mere 5 ft 5 in when I knew him After the g me I went back to talk to Jack and I asked him how he had aquired his great height, to which he replied that with th help of Tanice Mathieu, and a 1ew mlrcle drug he had accomplished the imnossible Fe then insisteh I stay later so I could meet Ralph wilson, better known a 'Soueak' who was the ianitor at the Saint Paul Auditorium Then I hurried off to at h my plane to New York City where I went to see Masseys hupe department stofe While I was wandering around who do I see but LaVonne Reinartz demonstrating the arts of breadmaking I asked her what had happened to her teaching profes sion to which she replied 'I ran into another Robert Cerhart in my classroom W I then rushed off to see the greit author Ind poet, Professor Irvin Klouse, who was head of the English department at Columbia University I irquired where hegot the materi l fo1 his new book, The Bad Treatment of the Irish Irvin said he had gathered most of it while still at Rose Creek High School I said a quick good hy and hopped the plane to Pittspurg where Robert Cerhart was st1111ng up trouble s head of the Coal Miners Lnion Robert had replaced Joan L Lewis upon his retirment I then flew down south to enioy the Florida sunshine While at Miami Beach, who did I run into but Gary Wendsten, he was vacationing with Arthur Godfrey Gary had been hired as a Hoke w11ter,but served best as a cushion when Arthur took his skating lessons I then decided to see how Catherine Hogeboom was making out in her married life at Camp Rucker, Alabama She met me at the airport and took me to a very nice apartment where she and her husband were living I asked her how they could afford slch a nice place on a soldier' salary She told me she was naking uo the differ 1 e by WOPK1HF at a local night club as a hula dancer I attended one of her shows and she was terrific And Howl While stopping in Dallas, Texas, I saw a large billboard announc ing the coming appearance of the Formel Clrls and their main soloist Charlotte Bloom This was quite a surprise to me as she hadn't done much singing during her high school days My next stop was Phoenix, Arizona, where I stayed at the Biltmore Hotel I got there just in time to tune into my favorite television progrlm 'Bride and Groom' Much to my surprise the beautiful bride was none other than Laurella Qensel who had met her husband while she was a dancer at the Alvin Theater and her husband had been a loyal patron while in Phoenix I simply had to see the new Robert Ulwelling movie, 'Dangerous Love' I felt proud that I had known Robert be ore his rise to fame Robert had replaced Clark Cable and was the idol of all teenage fans throughout the country Upon arriving in Los Angeles, I glanced at the headlines of the 'Los Angeles T1mes,n and was shocked to see the announcement of sudden elopment of the still young and oeautiful Marilyn Monroe and the new star rising quickly to fame, none other than Edward Pelten This was hardly beleivable for I remembered Eddie as a quiet and bash fu boy My trip around the U. S. A. was well worth it just to see the great progress that all the members of the Rose Creek Class of 1953 had made.
