aa.. is AT THE MARDI GRAS Transformed into a section of Old New Orleans at Matlri-Gras time the R-K gym was the scene of the annual festival on Saturday, February 27. This is always an Alumnae project! Large grotesque heads of papier maehe hung from the rafters among festoons of serpentines and balloons lending a note of the carnival spirit. A typical carnival crowd milled around the booths, named for famous places in New Orleans, and through the aisles, named for famous streets. Hilarious games brought the winners suitable prizes. Bags of groceries were given at O'Dwyers,' under the chairmanship of Miss Dorothy Dorseyg Elmer,s,' famous New Orleans candies were sold by Miss Marilyn Pet7old and Miss Loretta Bange. A baby-doll with a complete layette and hundreds of other dolls w ere given away at the doll booth under the direction of Miss Marlene Knudson and Miss lfugene XY'robel who were dressed as Southern belles.
