Row 2: ll. Wilhelni. R. Cardwell l Luke, R. Gibson, C. Ilanimond, Nlr. Sharrock Graduation '52 took a heavy toll of the 1952-53 Rosarv basketball team. Right of last year's varsity left. leaving only Captain John Noll and 6'3 Center, Ted Luke. Coach Sharroek had a hard time shaping up the boys for the first two games, but the Crusaders looked like veterans for the third. Rosary opened its 52-53 season with Greenfield McLain. Led by John Tuder. the boys from Green- field were a little bit too much for the Crusaders as they overpowered them 48-38. John Noll led the scoring for Rosary with 11 markers. On December 2 Rosary met one of the eity's elassiest teams, North. With experience as a main factor. the Polar Bears eoasted to a T3-45 win from the Crusaders. Captain Jim Franklin was the big gun for North as he swished the nets for nine- teen points. After this loss, the basketeers put their minds down to the game. coming out the following Tues- day to hoop it up against the Red Raiders of Holv Family, 65-50. The Crusaders led at half time. 29-22. It w as a big night for Rosary Center. Ted Luke. as he ehalked up 21 points on seven field goals and seven free throws. Ile was followed closely by Captain John Xoll who accounted for IT of Rosarfs 65 points. 56
