'SEPH lfRElJliRll1K loc is a Murine Reserve man has been in Rosary for tive As chief librarian in he had opportunity for his pastime, reading. This 'ind experimenting with almost anything fill up his few leisure ours. After graduation Joe plans to enlist in the regular Marines. OUR SCRAPBOOK Tonight we will be graduated-Let's take one last look at our scrapbook and see if we have everything in it. Remember the fun we had? Here are our freshmen pictures. just look at this uniform-it must have been one of those first orange ones. lt was in February. wasn't it, that we got the maroon ones. No one seems to have any lipstick on in these pictures, and we know why! Q Remember the time the mercury was spilled on the BOOT during the General Science class, and we chased it while Ann Devine sang One Meat Ball ? Look at John Hammond's bow tic. The boys were all wearing them, and the girls were flashing identihcation bracelets. Look how frightened joan Mauch looks. She must be thinking of her next assignment for the Public Speaking class. This is Dick Bernhard. isn't it. in the foot- ball uniform? It was in this year that we had varsity football teams again at Rosary. But it was our freshman team that walked oft with the K. of C. trophy, remember? Yes, and with the intramural basketball honors, too! These pictures must be from our sophomore year. Look how were strutting. Look at that know-it-all attitude. XYell, of all things-a picture of Archibald Thomas? He was our dear little held mouse that we kept in Biology class. He caught cold, and finally died from the potent medicine we fed him. Bob Wilson claims that .Xrchie died from hardening of the arteries. tfollowing a lost week-endil. Here's a picture of Mary Ann.Coughlin.- and Kathleen -Daugherty taken after retreat. Thcre's something wrong with that picture. Vtlly, atter that retreat all our haloes were visible on a clear day. This snap is of our Valentine party. .Xnd here we are cn route to do the song festival at St. ,loe's. Speaking of St. joe, do you remember when Manion broke the window, just as Sister Rachel stepped out on the back porch? But the Sophomores beat the whole school at softball that year, Those were the days when we chuckled over June Blanc's inane short story of the knight in shining armor who owned a letter sweater: and we sang Till the lfnd of Time and Chiekory Chick at our wiener roasts. Vhill you ever forget the little skull and cross-bone bottles and the devastating' streaks in the girls' hair? Look, Operetta pictures. Our junior year was anything but dull, with the street tar strike, Clmnifu and the parties atter the performance. Sister Georgia came that year, didn't she? Our social life quickened. The Hale lowe'en Party and Turkey trot, the Victory Ball for the basketball team, and that brainchild-the Evening in Paris theme. for the spring dance. Here-'s the January issue of the school paper. In spite of the fact that we were trammmg for exams, we put that out. and were we proud ot it. ' Rosary wins but Arlington is liliminatedf' That was a headline. Two weeks of fun and excitement. Do you remember how we cheered and prayed the team to the district championship. And Uh, what a good time going down to Ohio U in the chartered buses. i l wish we had a picture of our banquet hall-a. study in white and rose. XVQH, this is the end of the junior page-for here is a picture of the Senior Rose Prom? l.et's turn the page to our Senior Year. y V The beginning of the end. XYe've been so busy all year long we haven't had time to mount these pictures. Here's the Holy Name Pageant, kosamuudc, the Welcome rlance, the Sentiment Sale, and the group singing carols. Herc's Monsignor opening his Christmas giftg the Glee Club, the ballet classes. NIO -WYliat does that mean? Oh, the drive? Mary C. Clark and the boys from -102, sold lots of chances with their funny skits. How did lrwin sell them in lull? Did anyone ever get the true story of the trip to Detroit? Heres my friendship pictures. That brings us into the big race with time: the Yearbook. the picnics. and the parties tumbled over each other. Finally the Ban- quet and the Prom, our Prom this time. Remember how we worried about it and worked on it? Wie hung up our picture this morning. We have gone to Mass and Holy Communion together, and we have received Monsignor's gift to us, our precious rosaries. Tomorrow we belong to the Alumni of Rosary. It's funny. I always thought l'd be glad when school was out. but now l feel a bit nostalgic. Right now I remember only the good times, the funny times-but l know l'll remember the important things Rosary taught me-tomorrow. Joan Clark. Page Tu-crity-sefen
