ROSART COLLEGE HYPHEN 1978 I Dedicated To Sr. Thomasine Cusack, O.P. Professor Emeritus Economics Don't Worry Friend. Everything Will Turn Out For The Best. I'll Pray For You Today. 1905-1978 I was lead into a small lounge area and the guide said: This is a hyphen; it connects Power and Coughlin Halls. Hyphen? I thought. What a silly name for a lounge! Midway into Freshman year, having studied there after parietals every night it came to me . Like a hyphen connects two words , the lounge joins the two halls . Sometime Senior year I realized 1 would soon graduate into the real world. It didn't take long to conclude that Rosary itself is a hyphen con- necting adolescence and adulthood. V V w rosary college (ro z9 ri kol ij),n, 1. a small co-ed, lib- eral arts college located in River Forest, Illinois. 2. a short time connecting two worlds . Junior-Senior Beer Blast CANDLE AND ROSE Candle and Rose celebrated her fiftieth anniversary on May 5, 1978. Unfortunately, it was the first year of rain out of fifty and the ceremony had to be conducted in the auditorium. Student speakers that evening were Joan Cusack for the Fine Arts , Tekki Lomnicki for the Humanities , Diana LaBianco for the Languages , Lynn Geraci for the Natural Sciences, and Jeanne Ortega for the Social Sciences.
