Miller was elected Homecoming Queen, and Terri Schultz was elected Homecoming King. Activities 65 Lecturers and Guests Rosary College offered a lecture series throughout the year. Besides faculty lectures by such people as George Anastapalo, S. Thomasine Cusack and S. Kay Ashe, special lectures were presented by Judith Bardwick and Hans Kuhn. Tito Gobbi also made a special ap- perance in an instructive opera session. Thomas Egan 66 Activities 68 Activities Wayde Smith and Mary Hoggett Activities 69 70 Activities Activities 71 72 Activities Activities 73 Drama Two one-act plays by the 17th Century French playwright Moliere were performed on November 19 and 20, in the auditor- ium. The Affected Ladies ( Les Precieuses Ridicules) involves the courtship of two pretentious young ladies by two mischie- vious servants posing as elegant noble- men. In 'Love Is The Best Doctor (L 'Amour Medecin), fun is poked at the medical profession. Both plays represent Moliere at his sa- tirical best, ridiculing the weaknesses and errors of society while pointing up false values. In harmony with the Comedia del Arte style, the cast was attired in leotards and gym trunks. Both plays were directed by Mr. Joseph Bell. 74 Activities Activities 75 Mr. Rosary Amid the cheers and whistles of student wo- men, the first annual Mr. Rosary Contest was held, appropriately enough on Halloween. Af- ter due consideration of the various contes- tants, the student-faculty panel of judges decided that none of the men measured up to their strict standards. His moves were that of the most talented ballerina. He floated to earth like a delicate feather,, As he raced across the ground I felt the intensity that built about him. He stopped to quench his thirst. I felt his mouth tingle with the iced freshness of a glacial snow. As I looked upon this creature from paradise, he gave me the impression that he was playing a game.
