Apathy is a spirit that encircles Rosary like God. The commuter arrives at 9 am , goes to classes, watches tele- vision , plays pool , drinks coke or tab , depending on whether or not she is on a diet. The same routine drags on day after day. It is very easy for a student to get caught up in the meaningless trivia of living and neglect those aspects of life that make the difference in school and out of school . The answer is participa- tion . A person who approaches life on a mediocre basis lacks quality. Everyone hears every- one complain about power and those who hold it. The people who complain the most do the least. This school has a multitude of talents and voices of opinion . Must Rosary survive on the actions of a rare few who par- ticipate? Let's not let sleeping dogs lie . Diane Barrington 91 p FEBRUARY 2 23 - Ralph Abernathy speaks at Rosary . To date , DC has no written jurisdiction or limit to its power , but for all practical pur- poses they are under the thumb of Kathy O'Connor, Resident Director , who is in turn under the thumb of S. Joan O'Shea, Dean of Students. If Dorm Council truly represents the resi- dents , some changes must be made, includ- ing: l)a consensus must be made to determine what residents want . 2)Dorm Council must determine what they can and cannot do within the framework of the administration . and 3)students must be made aware of the actions of Dorm Coun- cil as well as its mem- bers. - Dorothy Smith SEPTEMBER 72 20 - I would like to commend SGA for the fine job of organiza- tion the members have done with regard to election information given to students and candidates .
