In the exchange of the rose of charity for the candle of truth, there is on exterior manifestation of the motto on the Rosary shield, Caritas-Veritas. Each junior gives to each senior Rosary's symbol of love to carry with her forever. In turn, each senior passes on to her younger sister the candle so that she will continue to keep the light of learning and knowledge burning brightly. The following pages are intended to show how the truth of the candle and the charity of the rose have found meaning in student life at Rosary. 2 The Class of 1963 dedicates this Memory Book to our parents, who not only instilled us with the desire, but also gave us the opportunity for our liber- al arts' education. Our college years have been filled with intellectual, social, and personal experiences. During these past four years we have strengthened the values to which, as graduates, we ore now committed. Because of our parents and because of Rosary College, we have developed as women and as Christians. The Social Science Club sponsored FronHer Day, a highlight of our sophomore year, when music and games of the Wild West combined for a wonderful time. In 1962, the Speech Department honored Flor- ence Henderson and other cast members ap- pearing in The Sound of Music with a tea. Kay McDermott and Kathy Earp enjoy the occasion with her. During our junior year the ploy She Stoops to Conquer was presented by the Rosary College players including three members of our class: Pat Lane, Kathy Earp, and Carol Smith as featured performers in this delightful play.
