3n iWemoriam HOPE CHENEY For Hope and for Pat, a Senior and a Freshman, life Is just beginning— not the earthly life with Its trials and tasks, but the heavenly life of reward for living well the preliminary round. Thus the end has been the beginning, and strife has ended in peace. Hope was extremely thoughtful and had a wonderful sense of humor. Her interest in others and her knack of having a good time with them made her the center of any group. She was always beautifully groomed and we loved to see her about the halls, slender and charming with her blue eyes crinkling in a laugh. Pat was Rosary's synonym for kindness and mis- chief. Pat always discouraged uncharitable com- ments about anyone. She was kind to the Insignifi- cant member of a group, and went out of her way to do anything she could do for another. But above all, her faith was an integral part of her personality, reflected by her every action and thought. A daily communicant, she was exceptional In her piety. These two will be remembered often in Rosary's prayers. We hope they will remember us in theirs. PATRICIA CALLAHAN 21

OCTOBER Srex, the dramatic society, selected its three major productions of the year from the annals of great comedy. October saw the curtains rise on the modern American satire, First Lady, followed by a representative of the best in French drama, The Miser, while a unique outdoor presentation of A Mid- summer Night's Dream closed the season. Srex has always been something more than a multicolored mixture of footlights, grease paint, parties and Christmas teas. Its name stands primarily for all that means good theater at Rosary College and for all that tends to encourage creative and critical endeavor among those students interested in the drama. A scene from First Lady, Grex's first production of the 1944-45 season.
