CHEERLEADERS Early in the year try-outs were held for cheerleader elec- tion Several girls expressed a wish to try out and were given a chance to lead cheers at a Pep Meeting in the gym From these three girls were chosen, Geraldine Cherry, Betty Crowe, and lawanda Nalker, to act as cheerleaders during the basketball season This year the school purchased material for new outfits lhey were blue wool skirts and boleros, worn with gold blouses and whlte magorette boots RaPRESEI1ATIVE GIRL AND BOY Each year the students of Rosamend High School select a boy and a girl whom they consider to be representative of the students of Rosamond High School To qualify as a candidate for this honor a student must have maintained a 'Bl average during his, or her, high school career Six personal traits, leadership, co operation, punctuality, attitude toward school work, industry, disposition or temperament, are used as guides in rating those students who have the proper scholastic stand ing Each student is allowed to grade each of the candidates The total points gained by each determines who are the repre sentative boy and irl for representative boy Gerald schwarm was chosen by the student body Gerald, familarly called nBucketsn was one of the outstanding players on the ba ketball squad Gerry is not only a eood athlete, but a dep no ble tudent Classes would be pretty dull without his quick hlmor Ie has a great amount of enthusla m, is very reliabl , and an excellent choice for representative boy students as repre entative girl Roselle is a capable student and well de erv thi honor She i hanoy, ood natured, and friendly to all In clas she can be dependee upon to assist in cla oiscu sion as he knows what i expected of her, and does ner xork well Her attitude towlrd ner work, no those with whom sh s ociatc , is unusu l in freshman student It is a pleasure to nnounce Rosalie as th one elected by the students a representative girl . - O H Q ' 0 O fv . .
