SENIOR CLASS PLAY May le, 1945 The most beautiful heroine--Nellie Lovelace, the blackest villain--Munro Murgatroyd, and the noblest hero--Adam Oakhart, ever conceived, stalked the stage of the Hosamond Gymnasium when Dirty Work at the Crossroadsn was performed there on May 16 This old time Melodrama, replete with thrills and hisses, was hailed by those who saw it as one of the most hil arious of the period, Mr Canode directed the revival en deavoring to recapture all its former charm It was the story of Beautiful Nell, a country lass, and how she was pursued by that hound from Bridgeport, Munro Murgatroyd Never for an instant did he hesitate in his wicked designs, and before the evening was over he had poisoned Nell's mother, falsely con victed her sweetheart of murder, and tied her husband to the rallroad track The cast was as follows IELLIE LOVELACE, as true as she is tender Arlene Abrams ADAM DAKHART, as brave as he is bashful Lowell Robertson TTB WIDOV LOVELACE,as sweet as she is simple Joyee Anderson MUNRO WURGATROYD,as w ild as he is wicked George Owens MOOKIE MAGUGGINS,as rude as he is rustic Lester Bruns MRS UPSON AoTERBILT,of Newport and Brooklyn Josiephiene Greiwe LEONIE,her daughter a Madison Ave belle Lucy Butterfield FLhURnlTE their French Maid Ooolala Joyce Darnell LITTLE NELL,who never had a father.
