Spirit of “76” A Future to Mold” 66A Past to Remember We, the Seniors of 1976, salute this our country's 200th year of freedom. As we graduate in this Bicentennial year, we are faced with the challenge of preserving those liberties enjoyed by mankind during the past two centuries. We, the class of 1976, accept that challenge. We were very successful and doubled the adds sold over the past years. Because of this we have added eight more pages and made the end sheets personalized. On October 2 we went to Norfolk to attend an annual workshop. We all learned a great deal from it. Our annual staff consists of Kristine Posvar and Peggy Myers as Co-editors and Bruce Smith, Alan Anderson, Penny Nelson, Kristi Preston, Colleen Marr, Raymond Pe- terson and John Brasch. It was equal to any High School production I have seen, and better than most. It was hard serious drama, a masterpiece pro- duction. The players were great-mark that statement-the players were great; however, out of this production came the finest indi- vidual performance I have ever witnessed in High School Drama: the portrayal of the Stage Manager by Ray Peterson. I found myself deeply involved in a play I had seen no less than a dozen times. It was the Seniors finest moment. Jim's Market R. We spent two beautiful days in the sun-paddling canoes, swimming, riding the bumper cars, fishing and water skiing. On Sunday evening we all went out to eat at Crescent Beach Lodge. We would like to thank our sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Farrens and Mr. Hecka- thorn for helping to make this a safe and joyous sneak trip. A delicious ham dinner preceded the awards' presentations. As master of ceremonies, Mr. Heckathorn began the program with some appropriate comments. Declam awards were then presented by Mrs. Connealy followed by Mrs. Thomas's music awards. Mr. Naden pre- sented volleyball awards with Penny Nelson re- ceiving both the Hustle and Most Valuable Player awards. Mr. Naden recognized each track athlete although no awards were available as the season had not yet ended. Football and basketball awards were given by Mr. Kneifl and Miss Larsen concluded with the Pep Club awards. A laudable speech was delivered by the guest speaker, Lowell Koehn, on the merits of com- petition. The banquet terminated with the master of ceremonies' closing comments.
