TO THE CLASS OF 1971 1 saw a group picture of ’58, Bright young faces made this picture great! Twas the kindergarten class in Rosalie that year. To Mrs. Anderson’s heart these youngsters were dear. ARDEN, too, joined these bright tots. To learn their “Do’s”, and their “Do Not’s”; These four sweet girls, each a winsome lass, Add charm and beauty to this class! I looked more closely, and 1 saw there, My grandson, CLYDE, with close-cropped hair! The round face then is now long gone, For love made Clyde quite lean and wan! And there was JIM without sideburns, Changes come—one sadly learns; That studious look he still retains, Now he has cycle, car and dames! There was ROD, a handsome lad, With conduct good-looks not bad; His favorite toy-a plastic car, But, now, his model travels far. Cousin ROGER was Rod’s best chum, For thirteen years, they made schoolwork hum; As Rog goes forth from high school days, He says hard study really pays. Another Nelson, Cousin JUDY by name, As top-flight student did win fame; In leading cheers she did excel, Her talents are more than 1 can tell. There was LINDA, a darling child. Charming, studious, never wild; She pleased the teachers with her work, Long class assignments she’d not shirk! A cheerful cherub named FAY LYNN, With this class, schooling did begin; Her favorite subject, she’d confess, Not words or numbers, but recess! Before the dawn of high school days, The class received two bright new rays; One was POSVAR, one called PULLEN, Both preshrunk, prewoven, woolen! Studious KELVIN, at school he stayed. While other Seniors skipped and played; LARRY’S good nature added wit and cheer. To class activities throughout each year. In this picture, there were others, too, Who left this school, a loss we rue; But, here are TEN-CLASS OF ’71, Whose high school days will soon be done. May health and work and dreams fulfilled, Help you a future good to build; To ten fine youths, we say, “ADIEU”, What you do with life is up to you. Helen S. Marr
