Senior Class History At the beginning of the school year of 1950, five bashful beginners marched up the steps to begin their education. Claire Lundgren, Geraldine Tessmer, Francis Wood, David Heise, and Kenneth Nelson met their first teacher. Mrs. Copple. This roll remained the same till the fifth grade. The only change in school was a new teacher, Mrs. Orr. In the fifth grade, Barbara Barada, Darwin Perrin, Carolee Slaughter, and Henry Canarsky joined the group. During the next year, we gained one classmate. Gene Loofe. Darwin and Barbara moved away. At the end of the year. Gene Loofe moved away also. In the seventh grade, the happy little group entered their first year of junior high. Darwin joined the group again. We also welcomed a new teacher. Miss Stanek. The roll remained the same through the eighth grade. As we entered high school, we found quite a change. First of all, we welcomed our new classmates. James Muhle and Rita Krumweide came to us from Martin School, and Mickey Preston, Sandra Gustin, and Kathleen Johnson came from Parks School. Mrs. Marr was our sponsor. We were initiated by our upperclassmen during the second week of school. Class officers were: Mickey Preston, President; Geraldine Tessmer, Secretary; and Carolee Slaughter, Treasurer. Gary Novak joined us during our sophomore year. We lost one classmate, Geraldine Tessmer. Our sponsor was Mr. Masten. Class officers were: Francis Wood, President; Claire Lundgren, Secretary; and James Muhle, Treasurer. Mickey Preston left us during our junior year. Our sponsor again was Mr. Masten. Class officers were: Carol Slaughter, President; Sandra Gustin, Secretary; and Kenny Nelson, Treasurer. Our Junior Class Play was entitled The Imaginary Invalid. Darwin left us during our senior year, leaving our graduating class with a total of ten, They were Kathleen Johnson, Henry Canarsky, David Heise, Sandra Gustin, Gary Novak, Claire Lundgren, James Muhle, Carolee Slaughter, Francis Wood, and Kenneth Nelson. Our sponsor was Mr. Kurtz. Class officers were: Sandra Gustin, President; Gary Novak, Vice-President; and Kathleen Johnson, Secretary-Treasurer. Our Senior Class Play was entitled What a Family. Those finishing all of their schooling at Rosalie were David Heise, Francis Wood, Kenny Nelson, and Claire Lundgren. Senior Class Prophecy Year: 2000 Place: Moon We now join Ken Nelson, World renowned sportscaster, as he describes the first Sea of Thirst 500. This auto race is the most dangerous of all races including the 'Indianapolis' (Indi) 500. Favored to win the race is James 'Cautious' Muhle in his specially designed Lunar Cruiser. Years of research by the World renowned Physicist, Henry (The Brain) Canarsky, have gone into this prized machine. Favored to take second is Terrible-Tempered 'Sandy' Gustin. Backing her is the best pit crew in the universe, David 'Crankcase' Heise, who had years of experience in repairing antique autos while he attended R.H.S., and Clair 'Flash' Lundgren, who is known as the fastest tire-changer in the universe. A unique feature of this race is the fact that Francis 'Dead-eye' Wood was hired to disintegrate any lunar varment that happens to wonder onto the track. The winner of todays race will receive a bonus. Miss Carol Lee Va Va Voom, Slaughter, has agreed to give the winner a lifetime contract at Metor- Golden-Moon. Another bonus is a specially prepared dinner by Kathleen, Poisonous, Johnson who's cooking tastes almost like the food that Great Great Great Grandma used to make. We regret that Gary Novak will not be able to drive in this race. His engine vaporized in the time trials and is unable to be fixed. Mr. Stewart, our teacher the first semester, was able to schedule several volleyball games with neighboring towns. On November 29, we journeyed to Bancroft to play our first game of the season. The Bancroft girls hadn't had as much practice as we had, thus we won all six games. Our next game was with Herman. The Herman girls have played volleyball a few years and thus won all six games from us. On January 25, we journeyed to Decatur to play our first game under the directions of our new instructor. Miss Forbes. We were able to come home with another victory. Our fourth game was on January 30th. The Bancroft girls journeyed over to Rosalie to play us another game of volleyball. This made our third win of the year. We also played Cedar Bluffs on February 8. They won the first match and we won the second. In the play-off, they were again able to out score us. We now have a record of three games won and two games lost. We hope to get more victories in the future. Page Sponsors DR. LYLE B.
