SENIOR CLASS HISTORY One bright September day in 1940, we began our school days. Our class consisted of Jim Barada, Sandra Daggett, Beverly Murray, Connie Nelson, Barbara Peterson, Larry Richardson, and Elaine Sailors. Mrs. Copple taught us that year and was to continue teaching our class for the next two years. Sandra Daggett left us in the second semester. In the second grade our class enrollment did not change. We were thrilled to enter a new room the next year and meet our new teacher, Mrs. Orr. -That year, Margurite Grudel joined our class. In our fourth year, Margurite left us and was replaced by Nancy and Patsy Peterson. Mrs. Orr again taught us. In the fifth grade we were joined by Janice Canarsky. Mrs. Orr taught our morning classes, and Mrs. Elton Anderson taught our after- noon classes. Ronald and Donald Blank entered our class at the beginning of our sixth-grade year. At the end of the semester, Beverly Murray left us and Diane Kinning replaced her. Due to an injury sustained by Mrs. Orr, Mrs. Marr finished the first semester teaching for her. Mrs. Orr was able to return the second semester. In our seventh-grade year, we were happy to enter Jr. High, and we welcomed Miss Stanek as our new teacher. During our second year in Jr. High, Mrs. Louis Anderson substituted for Miss Stanek because of an injury. We entered high school in 1958. Jim Barada rejoined the class, and we were initiated by the Sophomores. Our class sponsor was Mrs, Marr, and our officers that year were: President-Diane Kinning, Sec- retary-Patsy Peterson, and Treasurer-Jim Barada. Gail Bovee joined the class in March. We sponsored two parties in our Freshmen year, a trea- sure hunt and a square dance; When we were Sophomores, our class officers were: President-Nancy Peterson, Secretary-Diane Kinning, and Treasurer-Patsy Peterson. Mr. Maston was our sponsor. Me started the year by initiating the Fresh- men. We also sponsored a Cracker Party. In the Spring we journeyed to Sioux City for dinner at Baxters. We attended the shows Anatomy of a Murder and From Here to Eternity . In our Junior year, Charles Johnson-joined the class. That year; our officers were: President-Ronnie Blank, Secretary-Barbara Peterson, and Treasurer-Charlie'Johnson. Mr. Sailors was our sponsor. We pre- sented our class play, No Boys Allowed , in November. We sold mag- azines to earn money for our Junior-Senior Banquet Prom. In April; we went to Sioux City and ordered decorations to carry out our theme, An Evening in Paris . Our Senior year was a busy one. Our class officers were: Presi- dent-Nancy Peterson, Secretary-Diane Kinning, and Treasurer-Barbara Peterson. Mr. Beck was our able sponsor. Patsy Peterson dropped out and will finish by correspondence. We presented our class play, Beef Stew , on October 10th. We were photographed at Genelli’s Studios on October lSth, we also dined at the Biltmore and attended a show. Dur- ing the year, we sponsored a hayride and the annual Christmas party.
