CLASS HISTORY Very much afraid and shy we entered the halls of Rosalie Public School. Among our number were Yvonne Crowell, Judy Nelson, Deanna Preston, Kenneth Freel, and Donald Newill. Mrs. Charles Johnson from Lyons was respon- sible for starting us off in our reading and writing. Carol Sailors joined our class the second semester. The second year we lost Donald and Kenneth and gained Carol Ahlers for a month while her country school had a va- cancy. Mrs. Smith guided us on. Mrs. Orr greeted us upon our arrival into our third year of schooling. We also were situated in a new room which started our year off wonderfully. Carol Ahlers and David Redding joined us in the fourth year while Mrs. Orr continued to instruct and discipline us. At the end of the year David left our class. The fifth grade brought no changes but to make us wiser. In the sixth grade Mrs. Dwight Chambers led us to a new room. Yvonne left to attend country school and Mona Twiford promptly filled the vacancy. While writing our history we have come to the reali- zation that girls always outnumbered boys in our class. How true this was in the seventh grade when Judy, Carol A., Deanna, and Carol S. made up the class. Yvonne Crowell joined our eighth grade along with Jerry White. As eighth graders we had many new privileges and walked about with a grown-up air. The following year we took our much anticipated step into High School where Dorothy Canarsky and Donald Kinning joined us. Our instructors were Mr. O’Connor, Mr. DeBoer, and Mr. Carl. Class officers were as follows: President- Carol S., Vice President-Judy, Secretary-Deanna, and Treas- urer-Carol A. We were formally inducted into Rosalie High where we bore the consequence of Freshmen Initiation. Our return party was a Scavenger Hunt followed by Volley Ball, sponsored by Mr. DeBoer. As bright Sophomores we elected Carol A. as President, Dorothy-Vice President, Carol S.-Treasurer, and Judy-Sec- retary. Mr. DeBoer again sponsored us. The following year was one that stands out to all of us, our Junior year. Mrs. Whitcomb was our able sponsor. Class officers were: President-Dorothy, Vice President- Carol A., Treasurer-Deanna, and Secretary-Carol S. Bachelor Bait, the play we chose to give, went off very well. We broke tradition when we held our Junior-Senior Banquet inthe school auditorium, which was decorated in accordance with our theme, Fairyland Romance.
