You young people of today are facing a period of unrest and indecision which is unique in history. We read of sit-ins, walk outs and demonstrations against this or that. We have had draft cards burned and even our flag desecrated by young people in our nation. To the Class of 1967, I express my hope that our school has served you well, not only by pro- viding you with the educational background to suc- ceed at college or in a vocation, but by helping you to think clearly and constructively, by providing a link in the chain between our past heritage and the present, and by helping you to realize that the freedoms of our democracy must be balanced by responsible thought and action. To those returning next year, these same thoughts can make the coming school years a success. It is my hope that you feel the same pride that I feel in the achievements in leadership, scholar- ship, and activities. It has made 1966-1967 a school year worth remembering. Sincerely, Kenneth F. White ADMINISTRATOR MEASURE YOUR MIND'S HEIGHT BY THE SHADOW IT CASTS The Class of '67 will go forth into a world fraught with awesome and complex problems. We hope that we have helped to prepare you young people for such a world. If you will accept your role in the solution of today's problems, look upon those problems as re- sponsibilities, and accept those responsi- bilities as personal challenges, then you will find this to be an exciting and glorious age in which to live. You will find that what seems to be the worst of times can become the best of times. Best wishes always, Fred R. Broyles
