CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1938, 14 shy little first graders hung tightly on to their mothers hands as they entered for the first time, the portals of learning. We continued our eight years of grade school with the satisfaction of finding that at last we had made 'a place in the world. During the course of these years, we gained and lost many classmates. In September 1946, twenty eight wide-eyed freshmen trooped into the assembly hall, ready to start four strenuous years of high school. Six new students entered our class: Boyd Hardesty, Harry DeLay, Dorene Deeds, Winnie MacDermid, Clin- ton McGuire, and Helen Hall. Under the able direction of Mr. Stamper, our advisor, we under-went the tor- ture of initiation, the fun of the school carnival, and other school activities. At the beginning of our Sophomore year, Miss Klein was chosen as our advisor. The high-lights of this.year were the Frosh initiation and our dance The jail- house Jamboree . Rena Karlson joined us this year. Finally our junior year arrived and we were upper classmen at last. However, our class shrank with Ione Charvat Simpson, Minnie Raasch Madson, Helen Hall and Donna Jean Bishop all leaving. With the help of Mrs. Tuck, our advisor, we put on Soup To Nuts , our play, and the junior Prom, the theme of which was In An Old Dutch Garden . Now as high and mighty Seniors, we number twenty-seven. Donna Bishop re- turned from Montana, Helen Hall came back from Spokane and we had a new ad- dition, Vernell Wills, from Oregon. Rena Karlson returned to Spokane. This year we held our annual Senior play, Homecoming Dance, Senior Sneak, and were honored at the Junior Prom, but the greatest moment was graduation. With the aid of Mrs. Pebley, we have had fun during our Senior year. As we leave F.H.S. and go out in the world, some to work, some to higher education and others to homes of their own, we can look back on four years of high school education with satisfaction ar1d pride.
