The senior class wills the following to the junior class members: Pokey McAtteer's old flames to Kathleen Morrison. Pokey believes she has finally found the right one. The certain look in Emma Jean Martin's eyes to Lola Mae Bennight. Watch it, Lola, it might get you in trouble. Preston Reeves' famous basketball career to Billy O'Neal. Glenda Bevers' way with the Crosbyton boys to Charlene Ward. Take care, Char- lene. Jimmy Sims' and Pet Pettiet's way with the Shallowater women to Frankie Condra and Jessie Norrell. Nelda Townsen's ability to talk back to the homemaking teacher and not get zero, to Lola Mae Bennight. Mary Martin's ability to get married before school's out to Lillie Miller. Bernadine Rudd's ability to go with boys in the air corps to Kathleen Morrison. Inez Odom's and Lois Russel's ability to slip cookies out of the homemaking room and get by with it to Opal Cowan. Delbert Hall's fancy walk to Wayde Streety. Napoleon Jones' angelic ways to Billy Ledbetter. Patsy Christopher's flirty ways to Lillie Miller, who wou1dn't think of such a thing. Dayle Tibbets' way with the boys to Kathleen Morrison. Jimmy Roberson's ability to flirt with other girls and still go steady, to Robert Robinson. Careful, now Robert. LaVerne Hale's quiet and winning ways to Lola Bennight. Evelyn Jephcott's slim figure to Opal Cowan. H Preston Reeves' and Richard Arant's ability to get along with Mr. Burton to Billy Thurman, Bobby Whitlock and James Smith. The headaches of the concession stand to our sponsor, Charles Sylvester. Since we are graduating and have no further use for Donald Jones, we think it would be kind and generous of us to will him to Lillie Miller. Juniors, we wish you luck! Sincerely, The Seniors CLASS PROPHECY As we look through the magnifying glass at the ten years that have passed we come to an humble but well kept cottage. There we see two pairs of twin boys with black hair and freckled faces. We think of ten years ago. Who was black headed and had freckles on her face that received an engagement ring during her senior year? Wasn't it Pokey McAteer? We ramble on down the road. Who do we see, but Emma Jean Martin with her boy friends tagging behind her. ln the distance, who do we see but Delbert Hall, her sec- ret admirer. A We drove on down the road and who did we see? Preston Reeves struggling to get the cotton hoed while Nancy Bob stood over him with the rolling pin. We drove into a new station and whom should we see but George Carterl Working! Well, who do we see on the main street? Mrs. Jeffcott, Mrs. Townsen and Mrs. Martin, such gabbing about their babies. The little Arant boy whose father, Mr. Richard Arant, a well established lawyer in the city of Ropes, is breaking the window out of Mr. Coy Phillips' barber shop. Who is that big mouthed persong well whoever she is, she is really getting him told. Why, yes, it is Jimmy Roberson and Glenda Bevers still arguing who is going to be the boss of the family when they get married. Who, may we ask, is that person who just passed us? Oh, that's Pete Pettiet still going to Shallowater to find out how they came out in their ballgames. Well, look who's coming out of the marriage license bureau! Yes, it is Donald Jones and Lillie Miller and looks as. if they are headed for the preacher, Brother Ray- mond Jones. Here comes Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Means with a little girl trying to get her moth- er, the former Patsy Christopher, to let her go see the show. The train is arriving on time. Let's go meet it and see who is getting off. Miss Bernadine Rudd and Miss LaQuita Keesee are back from college. Hey, girls who's behind you? You say their names are Clyde and Doc. Those names sound familiar but I can't seem to place them. Who lives in this big house? Looks as if Dayle is carrying out her basketball career, coaching the neighbors children. What have we here? It looks like a regular old-fashioned barn dance, with Jay Nabours doing the calling. Who's that up on the rostrum playing the guitar? Nobody but Jimmy Sims, with Charlene trying to keep four little curly headed boys quiet. At this wonderful party we decide that we want some refreshments. We were served by Lois Gene Hamby and Inez Kimberlin. After all, mabe the years that these wonderful people spent at Ropes High School were not in vain. 755 Qunzlofi 6745.4 MW W 'Wil r 'MM f 'C W nfw fg - L-,WA, 4 ,..,. ln Memory of our Classmate, DENNIS JONES THE JUNIOR CLASS Charlene Ward Billy Thurman J. That year was used mostly for organization and sponsoring the purchase and installation of a new curtain for the stage. The project toward which the g1'oup worked in 1950 was to purchase and install a loud speaker system in the gymnasium. Part of the financing was as- sumed by the 1951 association. The goal of the 1951 association was to set aside a fund for visual aid and purchase library material and maps for the individual rooms in the elementary school. During the 1951 year seven people completed the study course. Presidents for the three years are: 1949, Mrs. Kelley Teaffg 1950, Mrs. A. L. Bevers, and for this year. 1951. After a night of riding we arrived in Colo- rado Springs at twelve o'c1ock noon. After a short period of rest at the Ute Courts, we started to observe the interesting parts of the locality. On Tuesday we visited Canon City where we went through the Colorado State Penitentiary and the Royal Gorge. Wednesday was a day of touring the Garden of Gods, and Seven Falls. Cold rain and hail hampered the sightseeing. Thursday morning we went to Denver, but did not see much due to a large snow. Friday morning part of the seniors and sponsors went up Pikes Peak. This was the most exciting part of our trip. Saturday we bade farewell to Colorado Springs and headed back to Ropes. We arrived Sunday morning safe and sound.
