This is especially shown by the formation of many new clubs, a marching band, the reorganization of stu- dent council, and the fact that North's library was named the model library of the year. We hope this year has been successful for you, the student body, faculty, and administration, and hope the coming years will be as rewarding. We, the publications staff, take pride in present ing to you, the Northern Star. tw i 2

This interest in reading and independent study has been re- flected in our classrooms and in the cor- ridors of our Junior High School. A student body that is motivated in this manner is build- ing habits that will be of lasting value as it grows toward adulthood. Special recognition should be given 'to the faculty members who have so enthusiastically enriched their classes with the materials in the learning resource center. The faculty believes that through curriculum revision and flexible scheduling students will have a greater chal- lenge to achieve while they are in Junior High School, We will continue to move forward. C, O. Scott, Principal OUR ADMINISTR TORS Another year has been recorded in our ,school history. As we review it in retrospect, we are aware of many innovations and, also, aware of more needed changes in the future years. This ,year a number of new courses have been added to meet the needs of our students. Other newer concepts of education will be inculcated in our curriculum in the next few years. We are living in a rapidly changing world. The social, economic, and cultural needs of tomorrow are difficult to anticipate. No stu- dent of today can foresee his needs of the future years. But of our social forces, the school system can best make an attempt to prepare a student for the space and the tech- nological ages that are to be our way of life in the coming years. We sincerely hope that our school this year in some small way has prepared you for a happy and meaningful adult life. A, G. Williams, Assistant Principal
