TIME CAPS ULE TIME CAPSULE COMMITTEE Chairman- Mr. Joseph Sparks It has been noted by a famous philospher that the future is a closed book with blank pages. This will not be true about our student body. This year, in memory of our nation's 200th birthday, we buried a time capsule that will remain undisturbed for 100 years. Mr. Gary Zunino donated the capsule to our school. We gathered water samples, re- sponses from local, state, and national officials, and other such items. The dedication assembly and burial ceremony were exciting occasions. A marble plaque was donated by the Student Council of Roosevelt Junior High School, and was placed inside the capsule to await its discovery in 2076. The Mcl-Ienry Museum of Art and History has been designated guardian of the capsule. Representatives from the museum will dig our capsule up and display the contents during our nation's Tricentennial. The success of this project is attributed to the efforts of many teachers, students, and interested citizens of our community. We trust our token of gratitude will be appreciated by our friends of the future, as we have enjoyed our efforts in this memorable activity. THE STUDENTS OF ROOSEVELT JUNIOR HIGH I . ' , 4 96 v.
