Open Doors Cf Opportunlt Throughout h1story the closed door has 1mpl1ed susp1c1on d1s trust fear and a pass1v1ty that can only result 1Il status quo or even worse retrogresswn Parts of the Orxent were at one t1me shut off from the rema1nder of the world by a huge wall that kept new xdeas from enter1ng and makmg the 11ves of 1ts people more fru1tful Th1s was true ln a nat1on that had formerly been the blrthplace of many 1nvent1ons of super 1mportance Serv1ng as a closed door tlus wall d1d much to keep 1ts people locked 1n a bondage of fear and dlstrust In more modern t1mes, the world has exper1enced another clos ed door the 1ron curtam beh1nd wh1ch 1ts peoples are kept 111 1gnorance of what 1S takmg place not only 11'l other port1ons of the world but Wlthlll 1ts own realm Th1s 1ron curtam makes poss1ble the enslavement of 1ts contamed peoples through a ph1losophy vast ly at odds Wlth the free world To graduates and those who w1ll Jom the endless march of d1 ploma seekers 1n years to come the open door offers everyth1ng of fa1th of love, of char1ty and of progress The open door should swmg freely so that love may enter the heart Not the love of one 1nd1v1dual for another but of love by all human1ty for fellow man The open door must sw1ng m the o1l of progress Wh1Ch results 1n economlc well bemg for all human1ty and not merely the chosen ew The door must always be kept open to adrmt the l1ght and warm th that 1S God Closmg of the door to the Great Creator IS to brmg darkness and despa1r Sen1ors who are about to become graduates m1ght 1n th1s foreword be g1ven one admon1t1on the remamder of your l1fe IS before you Do w1th It what you WILL The past IS gone for ever and can serve the future only as a lesson Keep the door open!
