For this single appearance we have heen serving as untlerstudics for four long years. On the morrow we face another playwright who is ever critical of the characters he chooses. Some of tts will he called upon for a tragic role with its prelude of carelessness or even stupidity. Some will accept the lighter roles and will go through life singing in chorus, never extending ourselves to take on the more dramatic parts. How well we interpret the character we are playing has many tlClCI'llllIl2llllS. Preparation, character, service, responsibility, willingness, tletermination, ambition - all will influence how well we play the part. Up to this time we have had directors who prepared tts for the roles we play tonighll These, we will leave behind for now we're on our own. j Yvhatever new character we are picked to portray. let us do our lmestr. Let us not afraid of failure. lt isn't failure in itself that is tragic. 911 971.2171011121112 Nelson Hedrick To the memory of Nelson Hedrick, who played his part well on lifels stage, the Senior Class of 14049 dedicates this issue of the annual. A.s attendance officer for the school district of the City of Wyandotte, Mr. Hedrick constantly came in contact with the sordid sides of life, yet never lost his faith or belief in the inherent good that is in youth. In furtherance of tlzis belief he gave of his time in the promotion and leadership of activities that would aid young people to find themselves. The Boy Scouts, Goodfellows, and church activities received his active participation in the work of helping youth. And he gave of himself: as he prepared to meet with one of his groups of young people the curtain was drawn on his part in the drama of life.
