The Social Service Committee sponsored the UGN, Red Cross, March of Dimes, and canned food drives. This year's donations to UGN exceeded any amount ever given by Roosevelt students. Meanwhile, Spades furnished social activities for handicapped persons by arranging parties at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentines Day. Members of this group also acted as aids for physical and occupational therapists. To keep the students of RHS informed, the ASR Bulletin Board Committee publicized school functions by maintaining informative and attractive bulletin boards While the Publicity Committee made posters for ASR and wrote articles for Inter-High Publicity concerning activities at Roosevelt. Honesty and courtesy were among the qualities promoted by Ethical Conduct Committee. Members encouraged honesty on tests and homework by making speeches before sophomore language arts classes and by establishing a student-faculty committee which gave advice to any delinquent student.
