Returning to Roosevelt, I find that the students have a unique respect for these areas of endeavor. Certainly our faculty and students are- keeping pace with our rapidly changing world and it is an inspiration to be a part of that effort. These words by Vice-Principal Frank Hana- walt clearly express his views of Roosevelt. Several years ago, he was a social studies teacher here, having received his degrees from the College of Puget Sound and the University of Washington. EecH F.BuHnck Returning to Roosevelt as principal and Seattle chairman of the committee investi- gating enriched classes, Mr. Cecil F. Bullock is encouraging high scholastic standards. National recognition was given to Roosevelt when it became one of the thirty-eight secondary schools with a large percentage of finalists in the National Merit Scholarship examinations. Mr. Bullock summarizes Roosevelt's growth: After six years' absence, I find Roosevelt healthy and thriving.- The search for knowledge, the respect for scholarship, and the development of responsible student leadership which brought distinction to our earlier years have all risen to new levels of achievement. It is characteristic of our Roosevelt way of life- 'The Strenuous Lifel' ff
