P ' v - CLIMAXING FOUR YEARS AT ROOSEVELT, the 512 members of the 1949 Senior Class attended commencement services on June 16 at the Civic Auditorium. The Senior Class officers had planned a year full of activities. A roller-skating party on January 7, sponsored by Miss Gibbon and Mrs. McMullen, initiated the events of the year. The traditional Senior Picnic was held during the last week of school. This senior year represents our goal and marks our highest achievement. This was the year we had been anticipating all through school, but, like Christmas, it seemed to have come upon us before we were prepared for it. We became the leaders of the A.S.R., the Girls' and Boys' Clubs, and had open to us membership in the Golden Spurs and Roughriders. Individually, each one of us was preparing to take the step which would set us out alone in the world. We realized that no matter what would happen to us in the years ahead, we had received the best training our parents and teachers could give us. For they also believed in our school motto- What I am to be I am now becomingf, V Last of all in the year came the Senior Prom, our last actual contact with Roosevelt.
