TNVENTY-FIVE YEARS ago the tirst STRENUOUS 1.11112 was produced by the first annual staff of the newest high school in Seattle. The school was nanied to honor Theodore Roosevelt. The Big Stick becaine the eniblein of the student self-government organization. His phrase, The Strenuous Life, seemed to describe the school's activities. So the annual, a record of stren- uous endeavor, bears this naine. This isthe twenty-hfth anniversary edition. As we, the sta ff, survey the past and look ahead, we think of our school as a sh ip. From the day we enibark, to the day we step ohf the gang plank, our school life is like a journey. We travel around the world , seeking its hidden secrets, and we bring back with us nzeasureless wealth. This year, wlzen we pull into the home port, some of us will leave the ship and go our various ways to save or spend our wealth. The ship will be repaired and inzproveinents will be made.
