Grades became imply pass or fail. This created a pro- lem for some students. TR saw a new face on campus, John Vells, the new principal. The absences and tardies were cut down to 12 absences and to every 3 tar- dies there was recorded an absent. The telephone and after school tutoring system was still in full swing and used even more since you had to have at least three days of homework a week from each of your classes. This also put a strain on the teachers. This meant that they had more papers to grade and more pressure was applied to help the students with dealing with this academic alter. This year was harder, but together the students and the teachers worked together to MAKE THE GRADE. Below, Tavia Bicklein and Andrew Tijerina work on homework during their lunch break. ....
