After the first bell rang the sound of footsteps filled the hallways. Lockers were heard open- ing and shutting while hun- dreds of voices were chatter- ing about how great this su mmer was. After the noise died down most students went through six classes of lecture on new school policy. While students were in classes, the counseling office and the attendance office were going 90 miles per hour. It was extremely, extremely busyg the compulsory atten- dance put a real burden on everyone,', said counselor Mrs. Fuller. In agreement with Mrs. Fuller, Renee Mosier com- mented that While the beginning of school was very exciting, it was very nerve wracking and confusing in the attendance office. The first day went by quickly and soon the last bell of the day rang. Lockers were heard opening and shutting once again while hundreds of voices were heard chattering about their new teachers and the shorter lunch period. Ending the first day on a positive note, Mrs. Shannon said, 'CI think in the thirteen years I've been in education, this year's opening was the smoothest I've ever seen.
