'G 51 if 4 . S slit , if i ' . M l Students preserve traditions, customs As the school year progresses, students may not be aware of it, but they are helping to preserve traditional customs at Boosevelt. Ideas and activities enjoyed are often repeated, ordinarily unchanged. The thousands of- spectators who gather each year to watch the football games are keeping a customary activity alive. Singing the Alma Mater with fingers raised in the sym- bolic 1451, cheering along with the Cheerlead- ers and Big Stick Carriers and clapping enthusiastically as the Patriots and Band per- form at halftime as the football team smashes through the breakthrough are just a few of the traditions. Spirit Week, with the colorfully decorated halls and parade of balloons and mums is as much sa tradition as Port Aransas during Spring Break. The customary momentos which abound in the school-from the Big Stick, symbol of our school pride, to the bronze bust of Theodore Boosevelt in front of the school-help to unite us each year in a band not easily broken. And the SAGAMOBE staffiworks to preserve the memories and events so they can be remembered forever. ,ff tqgtq it QM! t . fl tx , iw B I Q was .
