San Juan Guard, the male varsity team took first place at Gonzales, Texas. ln Octo- ber, the eighth annual K-mart drill meet was held in Wichita Falls where they again took the top award. Another big winner for the team was at Trinity's first annual JROTC where they won third overall. On the girls' team, the Rlderettes, the winning of first place overall at Gon- zales was easy. At the meet in Wichita Falls the team won fourth overall. The team was the only one representing Roo- sevelt at the Central Catholic High School Meet where they also won third overall and first in inspection. Rifle team won fourth place overall. ROTC 29

AFS H W sponsors Hollander ............ American Field Service, the group that sponsors the foreign exchange program, has wel- comed new student Mainsa Ftyp- kema. Though none of the club mem- bers travelled to foreign coun- tries this year, several plan to travel in the future. AFS also participated in a jointly sponsored Culture Night with the Harumby Club.
