K Ji: . f stff Mascot . 3 unifiesTR TR is often referred to as the most patriotic school in San Antonio. Everything about it bears witness to the fact that Teddy Roosevelt was the best. Students running to and from class are always reminded of our namesake. Mementos of him abound in our school, not the least of which is the Big Stick - the affirmation of all the pride, honor and determination Riders set forth. Although the interests of TR stu- dents are varied, the paper mache mascot serves to unify the student body as no other emblem could. It is a symbolic representation of what Rough Riders stand for - strength of body and strength of mind. For TR students, Teddy RooseveIt's notable statement still rings true: Speak softly and carry a Big Stick.'?
