Beta Club sponsor, said. The club, with more than 80 senior members, required an A average in English and a HB average overall. Members attended several worthwhile literary events such as a Trinity Uni- versity showing of the film, Lord of the Flies. Beta members, however, did not confine themselves to literary events. Many helped ttElf Louise in her toy collection for children at Christmas. Beta Club's primary project in the spring was working with the Publications Department to produce Outlook. Club members screened poetry, prose, art and literature, selecting those to be included in the literaryfart section of the spring magazine. But Beta Club members weren't the only English students who worked this year. Most seniors spent weeks tolling over their term papers. Many juniors prepared for their senior year by completing notecards on a topic of their choice. Sophomores trudged through essays on such classics as Silas Marner and Jane Eyre, and freshmen learned the basic skills needed to survive their next three years. . 1 . . , gy ...Ji William Brossman David Brown Jennifer Brown John Brown Karen Brown Melanie Brown s niors 25
