In the beginning n i -. wg A Ni , L '- , Teddy's folks were able to spend a few more weeks romping in the sun, as school opening was delayed until Sept. 6. Many were anxious on that day, however, to get back into the old routine. First day consisted of mass congregations in the halls just to see who was still around and what went on during the summer. An ever-pres- ent line of students stood in the office request- ing schedule changes and even schedule cop- ies, because some students always find it diffi- cult to hold oh to the things for any given length of time. The hopeless search for lockers and rooms was apparent as mahy students mind- lessly wandered into classes tardy. Jammed lockers made more trouble for students, espe- cially for freshmen who found it hard enough just to become accustomed to the new sur- roundings. t ltt yttt H . ff: 'if msiit--, ' ' . ,i X , -N 2 s 1 Hours of strenuous workouts paid off for TR gridders, as Rough Riders took to the field long before school started. 2 For some it took weeks to get into the back-to-school spirit, but Hector Rios and student Carrie Cole seem to be getting down to business early with a program for com- puter math class 3 Campus maps provided freshmen and new faces with a guide to get around. 4 Whether it was a sack lunch from home, a quick bite from the snack bar or a full course meal from the sewing lines, lunch time provided much needed energy to get through the first, and probably longest, days. Sid Wegert, Russell George and Warren Prunty finish their meal and check out the cafeteria scene. 5 For band members a new year meant the beginning of early morning practice sessions.
