It was a Mickey Mouse Affair Crazy colored socks, Mickey Mouse hats, Texas Tech jerseys and faded demins invaded TR's campus in celebration of Spirit Week 76. Starting off the traditional event was over- all and denim Tuesday. Students wore their favorite blue jeans, skirts, vests and jackets. Overalls, however, seemed to cover the most bodies. ASTM, UT, Baylor, Southwest, Notre Dame, Alabama, Illinois, Florida and even Slippery Rock were some of the colleges and universi- ties represented Wednesday, official jersey day. Chances for students to be creative, funky and original came Thursday when socks, hats and tennis shoes walked the campus. Legs could be seen in pink and purple stripes, green and blue checks, yellow and orange spots and other strange and exotic designs. Climaxing spirit festivities, mums, bouton- nieres, balloons and Mickey Mouse hats were distributed. On Friday seniors showed their spirit by wearing the mouse hats and fly- ing Super Senior 77 balloons. The rest of the TR population flew TR Rough Rider Country balloons. Student Council sponsored the hall deco- rating contest, where each class decorated a designated hall. Freshman hall theme was The Movies, sophomores painted on the theme of TR Throughout the Year, and juniors chose Election Year. Seniors won the contest, basing their dec- orations on the theme Rough Rider Land. The cafeteria was depicted as a scene from one of Walt Disney's movies, complete with Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Pinochio, Jimmy Cricket, Captain Hook and even Tinkerbell.
