IT'S PRIDE TH T GETS YO UP TI-IERE Talent, determination, and dedication, com- bined with pride, have helped the Patriots achieve their place as a top high school drill team in the United States. It has been under the strict discipline of sponsor Carol Searight that the Patriots have attained this high standard. They are known for their quality performances which have brought the group many offers and invitations. Ushering at various civic events in the city, performing at the Cotton Bowl, and at ABA Spurs games, and traveling to Los Angeles, California have been part of their busy year. Competing among l5O other contestants, Col. Nicki Tribbey placed as one of the top seven semi-finalists in the Pageant. The girls spent hours practicing the halftime shows for football and basketball games. Begin- ning their school day at seven .a.m. they often did not leave the campus until after five in the afternoon. The year ended with a Spring variety show and their traditional awards banquet.
