Gaines Leads Spirit Organization fww. Patience would probably be the most important virtue of anyone leading the Roosevelt Cavaliers, SALLY GAINES gained plenty of experience in patience after long hours of performing routines. Dances and pom-pom numbers had to be rehearsed and rehearsed until every single one of two hundred girls knew every step of every routine. Being Cavalier captain also meant that SALLY had to represent Roosevelt at many activities and affairs involving spirit organizations. One of these incidents occurred when SALLY went to Krueger Middle School to recruit future Cavaliers. SALLY was also active in drama, the German Club, Campus Life and TAGS.

Being a drum major involves more than rank and prestige, it involves shaping a group of musicians into a top-notch band. It is the drum maior who has all eyes upon him as the band steps onto the field. For two years RICHARD MILLER, an all-district tuba player himself, has been drum major of the Rough Rider bandg for two years he has led the band to countless awards and honors including one of three feature bands of the Fiesta Parade. Besides his musical accomplishments RICHARD also takes part in other school activities.
