Industrial arts popular Probably the most popular elective at Roosevelt was again industrial arts. Because the Auto Magnet was part of the department, students from all over the city could register for courses offered. Both one and two-hour blocks of classes gave students the chance to engage in introductory as well as advanced training in industrial subjects. While it was common in the past for students to enroll in such dosses as o termination in their formal education, today industrial arts students are more frequently just beginning what will be many years of post high school courses. Woods, machine shop, small engines and drafting remained popular classes. For the body Health and physical education continued to be popular among students even after they finished their required courses. Herb Chambers was able to return after originally being cut due to seniority. The courses that were always in demand were the conditioning classes os well as the aerobics course.
