We are driven Before graduating from high school, most students took driver education, required of teen-agers wanting to obtain a driving permit. Roosevelt also offered behind-the-wheel instruction, but only to those who had obtained their permits. In most students’ minds, using the simulators was by far the most interesting aspect of the class. Students watched a movie on a screen in front of the classroom. The drivers were then able to imagine that they were driving the streets in the movie. Besides the time spent on simulators, students were required to observe cars traveling the streets and write a report about their findings. Top: Steering. Shannon Brookin notices camera.
