Gerald Springer: puts a lot of mileage on his car following the activities of his students on the Work Program. Mary Pat Sorvik: is one of the new teachers added to the staff. She teaches Retail Florist and is well known for embarking on a terrarium rejuvina-tion campaign. Eleanor Schultz: aaa jjj 111, everyone can remember the repetition of letters in Typing class. You're always kept busy and confidence develops quickly. James Thornton: A Deacon who they call Mr. T. makes his Chemistry classes do many useful experiments. A friend to Joe Zilch. Jerry Strukel: does not believe in wearing cloth ties. He also is a Work Program director and this year his classes sold Tootsie Roll Banks for $1.00. 28

Stephen Phillips: good sense of humor, dedicated, shows through in all his plays. Will definitely take time to talk to you before or after his Film Study classes. Karl Pederson: calm, excellent physical condition make him perfect for his position as a Physical Education teacher. Phillip Petrou: To the question how will your students remember you most, he replied, My students remember ME? People loved his heavy Creek accent on Well, let's say uh. Charles Pinkney: He has to be the most unde rated great guy at Roosevelt. He's a wee-bit skinny but very arty . He enjoys his work and makes his class enjoyable. Louis Rudd: Eric Schoeder: English, baseball, and skiing are his trademark. In class he knows his stuff and he doesn't hide the fact that you either learn or fail. this indeed has to be die most unique teacher at Roosevelt. He's famous for his lectures, knows his History, calls to phone buzzer termites and is a religious lover of classical music. Charlotte Scarlett: would love to have you in her class. She buzzes from table to table helping all her students in her clothing classes. 27

Maurice Weinblatt: Unlimited artistic talent. He comes up with many cute phrases and just loves to talk about his gourmet cooking. Louraine Wendt: the lady with the distinctive voice and ready whistle. She is this year's gymnastics and golf coach. Muriel Weist: is strict, efficient, organized and goes by the book to prepare her students for tire real world. She teaches typing and shorthand. Dorothy Webb: gives highly emotional talks, craves Chinese food, and expressed her concern for China in the death of their leader, Mao Tsc Tung. 29
