Students Join Together to Help Others Colleen Crooks, a Sophomore at Roosevelt, was seriously injured in a car accident during the fall. Dick Bain began a money raising campaign in order to aid the family financially with hospital expenses. Through a large raffle, and students, faculty, and families banding together, the Colleen Crooks fund was raised to over 3,000 dollars. Following tradition, this year's Operation Christmas Basket was quite a success. Over 76 baskets were made, and with the 886 dollars that was collected, little extras were put in each basket. Roosevelt students had a chance to really prove themselves this year and that they did. It's only too bad that there has to be a tragedy before people will unit for the good of others. 28
