Because of the hard working Standard Staff, under the supervision of Mr. Nielsen, Roosevelt has one of the best high school newspapers. It is also the only weekly high school paper put out in Minneapolis. The Staff does everything from gathering information, writing stories, and taking pictures. to actually setting up the paper at the printers. In order to be a member of the staff, a student should have taken at least one semester of newswriting, and have the ability to write feature, sports, or straight news stories. 1956-57 Standard Staff Editors-in-chief Bob Fredrickson Cynthia Kersten First Page Editors . . .Judy Newfield Patricia Benesh Second Page Editors Mary Wiencky Mickey McMannus Third Page Editors Marilyn Moberg Ruth Johnson Sports Page Editor Gary Phillips Photographers John Petterson Jim Alinder Sports editors and photographers compare ideas Petterson.
