With Roosevelt’s splendid teachers this can easily become a pleasure rather than a chore. Our social studies department has been especially active in many of our school functions this past year. History taken in Sophomore and Junior years are world history and American history, respectively. Modern Problems replaces the history courses in the Senior year. This deals largely with the functions of the government, civic and everyday problems such as low income group, buying and selling, and crime prevention. Common Learnings may be taken if desired during the Sophomore year. [12]
