Nurses' Aides Each hour ot the school day a girl in Room IO9 worlcs as a nurse's aide. Aside from the girls who give up their study period during the day, there are a tew energetic aides who give their help in the morning when the ottice is tilled with returning students. These girls carry a big responsibility and, as Mrs. Lever- see will tell you, they are doing a wondertul job. E291 Heoilth Council This year the l-lealth Council, which pro- motes better personal health through more healthtul living, studied the problem ot health hazards in the school. The representa- tive from each homeroom presented a list ot health hazards to the homeroom mem- bers. These hazards were discussed and sug- gestions were made on how they might be eliminated. Delegate members ot the council attended the Mayor's Satety Meeting at the Nicollet l-lotel.

The only requirement tor joining the club is to possess an active inter- est in science. The meetings are held on the tirst and third Tuesday ot every month under the lead- ership ot Mr. Halron. Speeches by speakers E251 outside ot school and members ot the club highlight the meetings. The club carries on various activities throughout the year. This year at Thanks- giving the club gave two large baskets ot tood to needy tamilies. An annual event in the club is the awarding ot a science trophy. The students vote on the person they think did the most in science that year.

The Standard is the only weekly newspa- per put out by a high school here in Min- neapolis. This year the Standard received the honor rating of All-American, a highly coveted award.
