Sportsmen's Club Any Roosevelt boy or girl who believes in good sportsmanship can become a member ot this active club. The Sportsmen's Club meets every other Wednesday in room 222 with Mr. Riemen- schneider the adviser. The purpose ot this club is to create better sportsmanship and to learn the tundamentals ot sports. Some ot the other aims ot this club are to help con- serve wild lite, help prevent torest tires, and to talce part in nature study. This year the Sportsmen's Club had two bowling parties. They also had a roller slcat- ing party and went on a sleigh ride. Plans were being made tor a tishing trip, but 'ire- sults2 will arrive too late tor publication. The girls were dressed in the boys' outtits including helmets and shoulder guards. The game turned out to be a big success. The Lipstick Lashers won by a close margin. A touchdown was made in the last tew minutes ot the game. The tirst dance in the tall, the Soclc Hop, was put on by the Blue Tri. A contest was held tor the girl and boy who were wearing the cutest pair ot soclcs. At Christmas, two little girls who had never had a real Christmas betore received two beautitul dolls trom the members. Also, hanging ot the greens at the Y.W.C.A tor the International Fair was done by the Blue Tri girls. Blue Tri has been under the direction ot Miss Haberman tor the past year. The program consists ot sports' tilms, demonstra- tions, and speakers. Une ot the best pro- grams this year was on trailing-dogs. A speaker talked on how to train these dogs tor trailing purposes. It you by any chance happen to get to school at 7 a.m. on Fridays during the toot- ball season and the delighttul aroma ot pop- corn comes tloating to your nostrils, it is probably busy members ot the Sportsmen's Club starting to pop popcorn tor the toot- ball game.
