The council talks over mutual problems and gets new ideas tor programs trom each other. Betore school began this year the new otticers were invited to Carle- ton College. They also spent a weelcend at Lyman Lodge on Lalce Minnetonka. The next new otticers will have the same opportunity. The year began with the annual Recogni- town Y tor the new members. All the girls who want to belong to the Silver Tri must attend this dinner. During the membership drive a tashion show was staged with the male models being the hit ot the show. The club, which is open to all girls in the tenth and eleventh grades. has a membership ot three-hundred girls. The Silver Tri is a part ot the whole Y organiza- tion and is sponsored by the Y.W.C.A. The club meets twice monthly with a third meet- ing tor the cabinet members. Much ot the success ot the club is due to the excellent planning ot the meetings by the cabinet. The cabinet is composed ot tour elected ot- ticers and two advisers who this year are Miss Janice Ericlrson trom the Y,W.C.A. and Miss Stevenson. Besides the president, a vice-president, secretary, and ICC member are elected. Hanson. worked on a project for the Heart Hospital and also went caroling. At one meeting a group ot college men from the University came and discussed the problems ot dating with the girls. At another very interesting meeting a hair dresser trom Charles ot the Ritz came and gave the girls tips on how to make their hair more attractive. He demon- strated by styling a tew ot the girls' hair. One ot the main teatures this year was the IOOth Year International Fair which is Publicity Committee in Action Walling. Winick, Cecka. held every year. Each school has a booth ot a ditterent country. This year Roosevelt had the Japanese booth where they sold tigu- rines. A dance was held atter the tair at the HY. ln one ot the later meetings a Japanese lady named Yako spoke on her country. This year the club has had many interest- ing programs and has carried out many ac- tivities. The Silver Tri has surely lived up to its motto which is To tace lite squarely, to tind and give the best. Planning a Meeting Paul, Kylo, Clinton, C, Anderson.
