The Silver Tri has done many things to give their best in order to-help others. The club has several members who have a part in community service by reading to chil- dren and to old people tor several hours each week. The girls have also made and sent pres- ents to the needy people abroad. Another project they completed was to purchase, dec- orate. and send Christmas trees to the vet- erans' hospital through the Red Cross. Their meetings are held every other Tues- day. Marilyn Bork ings there is usually a speaker who discusses proper make up: hair styles: and, ot course. the never-ending clothes problem. These talks are usually very interesting. Lately square dancing has taken the state by storm. Not to be behind times, the Silver Tri has held several square dances. Everyone who went had a very good time. The girls also have put on several style shows which have been very helpful in choosing a new wardrobe. Tenth and eleventh grade girls only are eligible tor membership. Silver Tri has two ad- visers, Mrs. Jolly and Miss l-laberman.

Ladies Thor Wciited Everybody swing your partner is a tamil- iar order to al Blue Triangle girls. This past year Blue Triangle, Silver Triangle, and l-li-Y members have held a number ot barn dances. Blue Triangle, a branch organization ot the Y-Teens, is open to all senior girls ot Roose- velt. The Y.W.C.A. sends out one ot its rep- resentatives who works with the club advisers, Miss Heath, Miss Paleen, and Miss Leigh. This club has a Y-Teen pin which represents the Y-Teen fellowship throughout the world. An important activity of the club is the Senior Farewell Tea. One meeting each semester is devoted to a service project. This year favors were made tor the children at the University Hospital. Other so- cial activities in which the club engaged are the Banquet with Dad, the Mother's Christmas Tea, and the annual morning Easter Service. Each spring members ot the Y-Teens send members ot their own club to worlcshop meet- ings. At these meetings the girls are given in- tormation about their jobs. Die Deutsche Gesellschaft Familiar indeed, to German Club members. are the strains ot Ach Du Lieber Augustin as played by the Little German Band. This band also entertained at the Twin City Con- vention ot German Clubs, held at Macalester in March. Several girls have tormed a Girls' Chorus, and have learned several German songs with which they entertain the club. A B average in German is necessary to be admitted into the club. Atter being inter- viewed by the cabinet, the prospective mem- bers are subjected to tiendish initiations. Ot course, there is a serious and impressive part ot the ceremony, too.
