Royol Historians Which museum shall we visit next, Mr. Haynes? came the query. The Junior His- torical Society was organized in I945 by Mr. Haynes who has worked very hard tor its suc- cess. The club welcomes into membership anyone with a C average in grades and a genuine in- terest in the early days ot Minnesota. Throughout the year the l-li-Y was especially active in giving aid to organizations in need. The first thing they did was to prepare and de- liver speeches in various churches to raise money for the Community Chest. F.O.B. lFor Other Boysl was a drive to raise money for other boys who needed help in the war-torn countries. The banquet was paid for largely by the money the members took in from concessions which they sold at home football games. At Christmas each club sold tickets for a dollar apiece. This money was used as a down pay- ment on a Christmas tree which was bought at one of the lots run by the Y Men's Club. This year the Y will also have its own softball tourna- ment between clubs. Bockstoge Jesters Turn the lights on, pull the curtain a little more, and put I2 chairs in a row. These orders are heard frequently, but who is it that does these things? We look backstage and tind a dependable stage crew that takes care ot this work. The boys, who must maintain a C aver- age, receive a school letter 'atter they have served' tor two years with the crew. The man- ager this year is Jim Larsen, and Bill Bemis is assitant manager. The Visual Crew, under the direction ot Mr. Lobdell, takes care ot setting up and operating the I6 mm. movie machine. It the teachers so desire, the machines are set up in their own classrooms. Wayne Nelson is crew chiet. The Audio Crew, under the direction ot Mr. Blake, operates the sound system in the audi- torium and also the PA. system tor the toot- ball games. The crew chief is William Perreault. The tape recorder and portable sound equip- ment may be operated in the classroom tor in- dividual teachers.
