This club was organized in l928. Mr. Ulrich, who is well known tor his demonstration ot liquid air, is the present adviser. lt is composed ot students searching tor new knowl- edge in scientitic tields. Since IQ37 a science trophy has been awarded to the student whose work has been outstand- ing in two sciences. This year Myra l-lanson was chosen to re- ceive the award. Standard Features Scfzool News The Roosevelt Standard, which is under the advisership ot LeRoy Nielsen, is the weelcly publication at the ranch. To quality tor appointment to the statt, a student must show superior worlc in news one. Editors are chosen because ot ability and experience. Outstanding students in jour- nalism may apply tor membership in Quill and Scroll tor which there are special pins. The Standard statt meets daily, the literary statt during the tourth period, and the business statt during the titth period. Stamps Aid Members in Rambles The Stamp Club, organized in V935 by Mr. Ziering, otters some very interesting tea- tures. Any person who is interested in stamps and is a stamp collector is eligible tor mem- bership. At the meetings, which are held every Tuesday, a short report on some phase ot stamp collecting is given and the members are also given the opportunity to ask ques- tions. The students earn points by attending each meeting, giving reports, bringing in their collections, and answering questions. At the end ot each semester an auction is held and the stamps tor this are bought with the club dues. Al- though tew people notice stamps very closely, many historical events have been portrayed on them in the past years. Social activities tor the year have been a l-lalloween Party, a Christmas party, and a roller slcating party.
